DomainSouq started with a simple question: why has starting something online become harder than it should be?
You need a domain name, and you find yourself facing dozens of extensions, options and add-ons.
You want an email address with your company's name, and you end up in settings and technical terms you're not sure you even need.
You want a website, and you find yourself moving between one company for domains, another for hosting, a third for email, and maybe a different provider for every local extension.
In the end you are managing several accounts and platforms, trying to understand technical things that were never supposed to be your job in the first place.
That is where the idea for DomainSouq began.
We don't want to be just another registrar
Registering a domain is nothing new. Most registrars do the same thing: you search for a name, pay for it, and it gets registered.
So we didn't want DomainSouq to be different only because of a longer list of extensions or a control panel full of options. We wanted to build a completely different experience.
One where you understand what you are doing, find what you need quickly, and know there is a real person who can help you when you need it.
Because we believe technology should be simple for people. People shouldn't have to become technology experts to use it.
Where the name comes from
"Souq" means market. And in our region, the souq is more than a place to buy something.
The souq is where you go to find what you need, to ask, to compare, and to talk with someone who understands what you are looking for. That is what we want DomainSouq to be.

Many of the big digital services were built for the world in general, with a few options for our region added later. We are taking the opposite road: DomainSouq was built for the Middle East from the start.
A customer in the UAE may need .ae, a customer in Saudi Arabia .sa, in Jordan .jo, and any of them may also need .com. Why should each one take a different company?

That is not a shortcoming of the customer. It is our responsibility. If something is complicated, our job is to make it simple. If there is an option you don't need to know about, we don't want you to waste your time on it.
