Who can register a .com domain?
Anyone. There are no residency, citizenship or business requirements, and no documents to send.
Should I choose .com or a country domain like .ae?
A country domain shows local customers where you are; .com works everywhere. Many businesses register both, so nobody else can take the other one.
How long can I register a .com for?
The registry allows up to 10 years. Here you can register or renew for 1 to 5 years at a time.
What happens when a .com expires?
It stops working, but it can still be renewed for a while. After it is deleted there is a 30-day redemption period in which it can be restored, usually for an extra fee, and then 5 days before it is released. We email you 30, 7 and 1 days before expiry so it never gets that far.
Can I keep my details private?
