Register your .net domain
From $14.99 per year Renews at $16.99 per year
.net is one of the original domain extensions and the second best known after .com. It is run by Verisign under an agreement with ICANN, and anyone, anywhere can register a .net name.
We check .net first, then show the same name in our other extensions.
Why register a .net domain?
When the .com you want is taken, .net is the extension people recognise and trust most. It suits technology companies, networks, apps and online services.
- Open to everyone, with no documents and no residency rules.
- Recognised worldwide since the first days of the internet.
- A good way to protect your brand next to your .com and your country domain.

| Who can register | Anyone, anywhere: individuals, companies and organisations. The .net registry agreement sets no residency or business requirement. |
| Documents required | None. |
| Registration periods | The registry allows terms of 1 to 10 years. At DomainSouq you can register for 1 to 5 years at a time and renew whenever you like. |
| WHOIS privacy | Allowed. Under ICANN's Registration Data Policy, personal data can be redacted from public lookups, and privacy services are permitted. Our ID Protection keeps your personal contact details out of public WHOIS. |
| Restrictions | Letters a-z, numbers 0-9 and hyphens, up to 63 characters before .net. A name cannot start or end with a hyphen. It must not infringe a trademark or other rights; disputes are handled under ICANN's UDRP. |
| Expiry and deletion | ICANN rules require renewal reminders about one month and one week before expiry, and another within five days after. After expiry the domain stops resolving while it can still be renewed. Once deleted, it enters a 30-day Redemption Grace Period in which it can still be restored, then 5 days of pending delete before anyone can register it. |
Frequently asked questions
Who can register a .net domain?
Anyone. There are no residency, citizenship or business requirements, and no documents to send.
Is .net only for internet companies?
No. It was first meant for networks, but today any business or project can use .net.
Should I register .net if I already have the .com?
Many businesses do, so that nobody else can use a name that looks like theirs, and point both to the same website.
What happens when a .net expires?
It stops working, but it can still be renewed for a while. After it is deleted there is a 30-day redemption period in which it can be restored, usually for an extra fee, and then 5 days before it is released. We email you 30, 7 and 1 days before expiry.
Can I keep my details private?
Yes. Privacy services are allowed for .net, and our ID Protection keeps your personal contact details out of public WHOIS.
