Register your .qa domain
From $69.99 per year
.qa is the country domain of the State of Qatar, managed by the Qatar Domains Registry at the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA). The CRA lists .qa as open for all, so a name such as yourbrand.qa does not need a Qatari trade licence.
We check .qa first, then show the same name in our other extensions.
Why register a .qa domain?
A .qa address shows customers in Qatar that your business is local and serves them directly.
- Open for all: no Qatari company or residency needed for a name directly under .qa.
- Short and clearly Qatari, ideal for shops, services and brands in Doha and beyond.
- Names go to whoever registers first, so secure your brand before someone else does.

| Who can register | Open for all, according to the CRA. Some sub-zones are restricted: com.qa is for companies registered in Qatar, net.qa for ICT companies registered in Qatar and name.qa for citizens and residents of Qatar; gov.qa, org.qa, edu.qa, sch.qa and mil.qa are registered directly with the CRA. We offer names directly under .qa. |
| Documents required | None for a name directly under .qa. Documents (a certificate of incorporation or a government letter) are only asked for the zones registered directly with the CRA. |
| Registration periods | Registered in whole years. The terms you can choose are shown when you add the domain to your cart. |
| WHOIS privacy | The CRA describes WHOIS data as public information that must be valid and accurate, so the contact details you give may appear in WHOIS lookups. |
| Restrictions | 2 to 63 characters: letters a-z, numbers 0-9 and hyphens; a name cannot start or end with a hyphen. Names are given on a first come, first served basis. Disputes are handled by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center. |
| Expiry and deletion | If a .qa domain is not renewed, the CRA deletes it from the registry one month after it expires, and it becomes free for others to register. We email you 30, 7 and 1 days before expiry. |
Frequently asked questions
Can I register a .qa domain from outside Qatar?
Yes. The CRA lists .qa as open for all. Only sub-zones such as com.qa, net.qa and name.qa require a presence in Qatar.
Do I need a Qatari commercial registration?
Not for a name directly under .qa. A company registered in Qatar is needed for com.qa, which we do not sell.
Will my details be public?
The CRA treats WHOIS data as public information that must be accurate, so your contact details may be shown in WHOIS lookups.
What happens if I do not renew?
The CRA deletes an expired .qa domain from the registry one month after expiry, and anyone can then register it. Renew in time; we remind you by email.
Who settles disputes over a .qa name?
The Qatar Domains Registry names the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center as its dispute resolution provider.
