Add and remove DNS records

Connect your domain to a website or an email service.

DNS records connect your domain to a website or an email service. Your host or email provider tells you which records to add. Standard DNS is included free with every domain.

  1. Open Domains, choose the domain and open DNS records. (Records are managed here only while the domain uses Our DNS; with custom nameservers manage them with that provider, or switch back on the Nameservers tab.)
  2. Press Add a record, choose its type (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and others), then fill in the name, the value and, for mail, the priority.
  3. Press Add record. It appears in the list straight away.
  4. To remove one, press Remove on its row and confirm.

Common examples

  • Website: an A record for @ with the IP address your host gave you, and a CNAME for www.
  • Email: the MX records your email provider lists (with their priorities), plus any TXT records for SPF or DKIM.
  • Proof of ownership: a TXT record some services ask for to confirm the domain is yours.
